Quick verdict
Lovable builds websites and web apps from a chat and publishes them to a lovable.app address on every plan. Free gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, a daily chat allowance and monthly grants of 20 Cloud credits, 4 AI credits and 1 connector credit, with no extra credits for sale. Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, or $250 a year paid up front ($21 a month), before tax. The same plan scales to 10,000 credits for $2,250 a month, priced per credit tier rather than per seat, with unlimited members. Pro adds daily build credits without a monthly cap, rollover, extra credits at $15 per 50, custom domains, code editing in the browser and code download.
On ownership, Lovable's Terms say: "As between us, you own your Customer Data, including the applications, websites, or other projects you build using the Services." You also own the AI output, subject to third-party rights in the models, and the Terms license use for personal or internal business purposes, including to create, deploy, operate and make available what you build. No plan restriction is stated, so this reads the same on Free and Pro. Since September 9, 2026, Free and Pro data may be used for model training unless you turn that off in Account settings.
This verdict rests on what Lovable documents, not on our tests, which we have not run yet. We have not judged the apps Lovable builds.
Strengths and limits
Strengths
- Hosting and a backend includedPublishing to a lovable.app URL is free on all plans, and a live site uses no credits by itself. The built-in Cloud backend, built on Supabase, includes a database, user authentication, storage and edge functions; its usage draws Run credits, first from a monthly 20-credit Cloud grant.
- Your code in Git on every planTwo-way Git sync with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket is on all plans, including Free. Pro adds Download codebase, and on any plan you can export the app's Cloud database with Export project data in Advanced settings.
- Ownership written into the TermsLovable's Terms say you own the applications, websites and other projects you build, and the AI output, subject to third-party rights in the models. They license use to create, deploy, operate and make available what you build, with no plan restriction stated.
- Images and short videos while buildingLovable generates images from a description, edits existing images, combines several into one and makes backgrounds transparent. It can also make short videos for your app. All of this uses build credits, and no video length or resolution limits are documented.
- Pro priced by credits, not seatsPro tiers run from 100 credits at $25 a month to 10,000 credits at $2,250 a month, with unlimited members. Unused credits roll over, and verified students and teachers get 50% off the 100-credit monthly tier for up to 12 months.
Limits
- Free is small and can go offlinePlan limit. Free gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, and you cannot buy more. Newer Free apps are capped at 1,000 server requests per 10 seconds, and idle Free projects may be unpublished.
- No custom domain or code editing on FreePlan limit. Custom domains require a paid plan, so Free apps stay on a lovable.app address. The built-in code editor is read-only on Free and Download codebase is paid only, though Git sync still lets you edit the code in your own IDE.
- Build costs vary by taskCost limit. Plan mode uses 1 credit per message, but Build mode varies by task complexity, so the docs do not tell you in advance what a change will cost. Generated images and videos also use build credits.
- No importing an existing repositoryWorkflow limit. Git sync exports from Lovable to GitHub, but importing an existing repository is not supported, so a project has to start in Lovable.
- Model training on by defaultPrivacy limit. Since September 9, 2026, Free and Pro customer data may be used for model training unless you turn off "Use my Lovable content for model training" in Account settings. The opt-out is free and applies going forward.

Who it suits
A good fit if you
- Building a website or web app by chat, with hosting on a lovable.app address included
- Apps that need a database, user sign-in and file storage without a separate service
- Keeping your code in GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket from day one, even on Free
- Small teams sharing one credit pool: Pro has unlimited members
Look elsewhere if you
- Your own domain on the free plan: custom domains need a paid plan
- Continuing an existing codebase: importing a repository is not supported
- Image upscaling, vector export or text-in-image work: outside what Lovable is for
- Knowing the cost of a change in advance: Build mode credits vary by task

What it documents for each use
- Images & Design Create images from a description · Make graphics for posts and slides · Edit my own photos · Remove a background
- Coding & Development Code inside my editor · Build an app without writing code · Put an app or site online
- Video & Animation Make short videos from a description
- Business & Productivity Connect AI to the apps I already use
A use is listed when at least one plan documents every feature a task needs. Answer quality is a separate question: see below.
Using it day to day
Lovable runs on the web, in a desktop app for macOS and Windows (on all plans, including Free) and in iOS and Android apps. The Lovable API is for Business and Enterprise only. You can attach images, PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and audio recordings to chat messages: up to 10 files per message, each up to 20 MB on Free and up to 256 MB on paid plans. Connectors link Lovable to tools and APIs such as Slack, Google Workspace, Notion and Linear; Figma import has its own integration, chat connectors work through MCP, and you can create custom connectors on all plans.
Credits come in several kinds. Build credits pay for building: Plan mode costs 1 credit per message and Build mode varies by task. Run credits pay for backend and AI activity in a live app, drawn first from the monthly 20 Cloud credits, and every plan also gets 4 AI credits and 1 connector credit a month. Pro adds 5 daily build credits without a monthly cap, rollover and extra credits at $15 per 50. Paid plans can choose a larger database instance; Free stays on the default size. You can also buy a domain through Lovable, priced separately at checkout and renewed yearly, and paid plans get automatic SSL on custom domains.
Privacy, data and ads
Since September 9, 2026, Lovable may use Free and Pro customer data for model training unless you turn off "Use my Lovable content for model training" in Account settings. The opt-out is free and applies going forward. Whether the Lovable editor shows ads is not verified; Lovable's privacy page says limited pseudonymized identifiers may be shared with advertising platforms, and US users can opt out. You can export your app's Cloud database with Export project data in Advanced settings and keep your code in Git on any plan. The Data exports row in Lovable's plan table (Enterprise only) is scheduled audit log export, not your project data.

Test results
We have not tested Lovable yet, so this page makes no claim about answer quality, and we show no example outputs. Run the same kit in it and in the alternatives, in your own account:
- Summarize a report with traceable facts
- Analyze a spreadsheet and get the numbers right
- Edit an email without losing a detail
- Diagnose and repair a small program
- Research a question with sources that support the answer
- Make sense of documents that disagree
- Research a current question within a date window
- Edit an article without changing its facts
- Turn project notes into a report that agrees with itself
- Implement a small specification
- Refactor code without changing what it does
- Make a picture that follows a detailed brief
- Put exact text into a graphic
- Change one thing in a picture and nothing else
- Make a short clip that follows a brief
- Make a song that sings your lyrics exactly
- Read a script with names, numbers and abbreviations
- Design a logo with an exact name
Getting started
- Start on Free: build a small app and publish it to a lovable.app address. Free gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month.
- Before you add anything confidential, turn off "Use my Lovable content for model training" in Account settings.
- Connect GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket so a copy of your code lives outside Lovable from the start.
- If you need your own domain, code editing in the browser or more credits, choose Pro: $25 a month for 100 credits, or $250 a year paid up front, before tax.
- Compare Lovable with Replit and v0 on our tools page, and read how we check vendor claims.

Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, or $250 a year paid up front ($21 a month). The same plan scales up to 10,000 credits for $2,250 a month. Lovable's terms say tax is added at checkout where not already included, so treat these as before tax.
Can I use what I build with Lovable commercially?
Lovable's Terms say you own the applications, websites and other projects you build, and the AI output, subject to third-party rights in the models. They license use for personal or internal business purposes, including to create, deploy, operate and make available what you build. No plan restriction is stated.
Does Lovable host my app on the free plan?
Yes. Publishing to a lovable.app URL is free on all plans. Backend and AI activity use Run credits, newer Free apps are capped at 1,000 server requests per 10 seconds, and idle Free projects may be unpublished.
Can I use my own domain with Lovable?
Only on a paid plan. Custom domains on Pro come with automatic SSL, and you can also buy a domain through Lovable, priced separately and renewed yearly. Free apps publish on a lovable.app address.
Can I take my code out of Lovable?
Yes. Git sync with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket works on every plan, Pro adds Download codebase, and Export project data copies your Cloud database. Importing an existing repository into Lovable is not supported.
