What you pay, and what comes with it
Google AI Pro is $19.99 a month, or $199.99 a year paid up front. Students can get it free for one year after verification. Cursor Premium is $30 a month, monthly only, and Cursor's prices exclude tax; Google does not say on the pages we checked whether tax is included.
Neither price buys only a coding tool. Google AI Pro includes 5 TB of storage, YouTube Premium Lite, Google Home Premium Standard, Google Health Premium, and Gemini in Gmail, Docs and Sheets. Since October 12, 2026, Cursor's plans are sold as the X Subscription. Premium has one usage pool, four times Plus and refreshed weekly, shared by Cursor and Grok, and xAI says it bundles SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+. That brings Grok Chat, Grok Imagine images, Grok video and Grok Voice, and X ad-free on "most surfaces".
Where each one works
Google's coding tools sit outside the Gemini app. Google Antigravity is an IDE and CLI with extensions for VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains, Zed and Xcode, and Google says it is free with a personal Google Account, with no subscription. Consumer access to Gemini Code Assist in the IDE and Gemini CLI ended on June 18, 2026. Pro also lists AI Studio and Android Studio among its coding tools.
Cursor is its own desktop editor, with a CLI for macOS, Linux, WSL and Windows, web agents at cursor.com/agents, and an iOS and iPadOS app listed for paid plans. Its agent also runs in JetBrains IDEs version 2025.1 or later through ACP, and with Xcode 26.3 or later projects through an MCP bridge.
Completions and the agent in your editor
Antigravity lists unlimited Tab completions in its IDE on every plan, including its $0 plan; Google does not say whether they also work in the VS Code or JetBrains extensions. What Pro adds is agent capacity: a higher Antigravity quota that refreshes every five hours up to a weekly limit, with AI credits for overages. The free tier gets basic weekly limits.
Cursor Premium documents Tab autocomplete that is multi-line, works across files and jumps to the next edit. The new pricing page states no Tab limit; xAI says Premium includes Cursor Pro benefits, and Cursor Pro listed unlimited Tab. For Cursor Free and Plus the Tab limit is not verified. Cursor Agent, on every plan, edits files, runs terminal commands and searches your code.
Cloud agents
Jules, a beta for users 18 and over, runs tasks in a cloud VM on connected GitHub repos and can publish a branch or open a pull request. On Google AI Pro, Jules' limits page lists 100 daily tasks over a rolling 24 hours, 15 at once, and higher access to the latest model. The free tier gets 15 daily tasks, 3 at once, on Gemini 2.5 Pro.
Cursor's cloud agents, from Premium, run in cloud VMs on GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps repos, work on a branch and open pull requests. You can start them from the web, Slack, GitHub comments or the iOS app. They draw on the shared weekly pool, and Cursor publishes no task count. Whether either agent's pull requests are correct is for testing: hand both the same task from our code spec kit.
Pull request review
This is a documented gap on Google's side. Google deprecated the consumer Gemini Code Assist on GitHub app on June 18, 2026 and shut it down on July 17, 2026. It documents no replacement reviewer for any consumer plan, and Jules only answers comments on its own pull requests.
Cursor Premium includes Bugbot, which reviews GitHub and GitLab pull requests automatically on each update and comments with bugs, security issues and suggested fixes. It is usage-based, and not on Cursor Free or Plus. The documentation does not say how useful its comments are; our code repair kit gives you a known bug to check against.
Models, and how they are billed
The Gemini app lists Google models only: 3.8 Flash and 3.1 Pro on Pro, with a 1 million token context. Inside Antigravity, Pro's model list adds Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Opus 5.5 from Anthropic, for non-trial subscriptions only, plus Claude 4.6 models and GPT-OSS-120b, which are marked for removal on November 2, 2026. On the free tier and Plus, the non-Google models in Antigravity are only those being removed.
Cursor Premium includes Grok 4.7 and Composer 2.5 from its pool. Models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and Meta, such as Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Fable 5.1, GPT-5.6 Sol and Gemini 3.1 Pro, are billed separately at API list price through top-ups, with spending caps. Grok 4.7 has a 256k standard window and 500k long context, with input over 256k billed at twice the rate.
Privacy and training
Google uses Gemini chats for training by default for users 18 and over. Turning off Keep Activity stops it, but chats are still kept for up to 72 hours, and memory of past chats needs Keep Activity on. Export is through Google Takeout. Cursor's Privacy Mode keeps code data out of training by Cursor and model providers, under zero data retention agreements; with it off, Cursor may train on codebase data and prompts. The Cursor pages we checked do not document a data export.
