white background. Flat design: no gradients, no shadows, no photo effects.

Zoom in and compare the name letter by letter. Then shrink the logo to
about 32 pixels high (or look at it from across the room): a good logo
stays readable and recognizable. Check that it still works in one color by
imagining it printed in black only.
