RIVERTON E-SCOOTER PILOT: FOUR DOCUMENTS THAT DISAGREE Test packet for AI Compare (What the tech). Frozen on October 13, 2026. Fictional city, organisations, people and figures. Every paragraph has a label (A1, B2, ...). ====================================================================== DOCUMENT A City of Riverton, Transportation Department "Shared e-scooter pilot: interim report" Published August 14, 2026 A1. The pilot ran from March 1, 2026 with 900 scooters from one operator, Glide Mobility. From March 1 to June 30, 2026, riders took 412,000 trips. A2. Reported scooter injuries fell 12% compared with the same months of 2025: from 50 (March to June 2025) to 44 (March to June 2026). A3. "Reported injuries" means injuries recorded in police collision reports or reported to the city's 311 line. Injuries treated at home, at a clinic or at a hospital without a police or 311 report are not counted. A4. Observers recorded helmet use on 9% of trips in a sample of 1,200 trips. ====================================================================== DOCUMENT B Riverton General Hospital, Emergency Department "Data note: scooter-related visits" Published September 2, 2026 B1. Emergency department visits coded as scooter-related: 58 from March to July 2026, against 41 from March to July 2025. B2. Coding a visit as scooter-related became mandatory on January 1, 2026. Before that date it was optional, so the 2025 count is likely to be incomplete. We cannot say by how much. B3. Seven of the 58 visits in 2026 led to admission to the hospital. We do not publish how long patients stayed. ====================================================================== DOCUMENT C Glide Mobility (the operator) Press release, July 10, 2026 "100 days in Riverton" C1. "Zero serious injuries in our first 100 days in Riverton." C2. Footnote to C1: "Serious injury" means an injury that resulted in a hospital stay of more than 72 hours. C3. "Riverton riders have taken more than 350,000 trips with us." ====================================================================== DOCUMENT D Riverton Courier (local newspaper) "Scooter injuries up 41% since pilot began, hospital says" Published September 20, 2026 D1. Scooter injuries in Riverton have risen 41% since the pilot began, according to figures from Riverton General Hospital. D2. Councillor Dana Whitlock said: "The pilot is clearly making our streets more dangerous." ====================================================================== THE TASK (paste everything above and this question) Using only documents A to D, and nothing else: Did scooter injuries in Riverton rise or fall during the pilot? Explain why the documents seem to disagree. Cite the document and paragraph (for example B2) for every claim you make, and say what this packet cannot tell us.
